As part of the training of future BIM-specialists, BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov uses VR Concept for:
- Organization of collective work of students and teachers with BIM-models of future facilities in a virtual environment;
- Students gaining virtual prototyping skills;
- Demonstration of student projects in VR at exhibitions;
- Discussion and analysis of layouts in the design team.
Anyone can walk around a virtual building, check ergonomics, find out additional characteristics of each detail at the facility, take measurements, build sections. Students of BSTU regularly present their projects in virtual reality to experts at exhibitions.
For instance, at the last “Technologist” exhibition in August 2019, the staff and students of the Department of Expertise and Real Estate Management, together with VR Concept, were able to demonstrate to the event guests the technology of digital prototyping of steel, stone and reinforced concrete building structures. They also presented an optimized hardware-software complex for high-precision and resource-efficient creation and interactive interaction with a digital twin of buildings and structures.
